The city of Karlsruhe was awarded the title City of Media Arts
by UNESCO in 2019. Events such as the Schlosslichtspiele, but
also permanent facilities such as the ZKM, are representative of
The Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences would also like to
take part in making the city unique through media art.
Which made us think hard in arrange to work on
realizing the thought Swimming Pixels project and
applying it on the ground. To be implemented as part of
the Information Technology - Laboratory course.
For this purpose, we have construct floating LED pixels
that can be controlled with the help of a MIDI
launchpad, among other things, and thus let the castle
pond shine with different light sequences.
