2.1 Project Introduction

As unmanned aerial vehicles offer great potential in a wide range of applications, they have been attracting increasing attention in civilian use and research for several years. For safety reasons, however, it is forbidden to use the airspace with a drone in the vicinity of facilities such as hospitals, airports or properties of constitutional bodies.
In order to be able to take off for educational purposes anyway, a drone must have a permanent connection to the ground. If this is the case, it is not considered a flight from a legal perspective.

The first part of this project is the creation of the automatic system to manage the rope connected to the drone. The information concerning this part is given on the  http://hit-karlsruhe.de/hit-info/info-ws21/ff1/ web page.

The second part will focus on the power supply of the drone. The elements concerning this part will be given in the http://hit-karlsruhe.de/hit-info/info-ws21/RC/ web page.
