4.15 Log

Protocol of the first test flight and problem statement. Participants: Walter, Diel, Petit, Ahmed

 Preparation

        1. Drone (DJI MAVIC 2, with Zeiss lens), batteries, remote control, smartphone, chargers (for drone battery,      smartphone, remote control)
        2. Rod, fishing line (nylon, standard for trout fishing)

 Execution

        1. look for a free starting place

        2. Insert smartphone into remote control

        3. Start the DJI GO 4 app and check flight parameters.

        4. Place the drone on the ground

        5. Tie fishing line around the body of the drone and clamp it by locking the battery

        6. Lead the fishing line outwards between 2 of the 4 rotors and use the fishing rod to tension the line slightly (risk of entanglement!)

        7. When climbing from the ground, the fishing reel must rotate freely, the open bracket allows the fishing line to be unwound from the drone

        8. In the descent, the bail must be closed and the line pulled in carefully by winding it on the fishing reel

 Problem Statement

Insufficient tension of the fishing line when starting the drone or improper line guidance (at an unfavorable angle between the rotors) led to the fishing line "tangling" in a rotor. Due to the permanent winding, the fishing line also has a spiral shape if it is not pretensioned.
